Successful internet safety roadshow visits South Australia

The NetAlert Expo, a national internet safety road show, has completed a very successful two week tour of South Australia.

The NetAlert Expo – a national education and awareness tour of Australia has completed a highly successful two week tour of South Australia in August and September 2006. The Expo has already visited Victoria, Queensland, Tasmania and New South Wales and will be heading to the Australian Capital Territory in November 2006. The Northern Territory and Western Australia will be visited in 2007.

There was very keen interest in South Australia with key centres selected to host events in order to maximise the number of participants. Parents, teachers, librarians and special police groups all had access to the workshops. Many local communities have combined together to ensure they had access to an internet safety presentation.

As a first, there were two events run at the Technology School of the Future in Adelaide which were also available to be viewed across the internet via video conferencing technology. This ensured that schools and community groups in outlying areas had access to the internet safety information provided through the workshop.

Free internet safety materials were provided to all participants at the events.
